President Donald Trump and Jordanian King Abdullah II met to discuss the war in Gaza. Abdullah, who could help Trump achieve his vision by taking in more Palestinian refugees, is hesitant to OK any solution but a two-state model.

Like most of President Donald Trump’s meetings these days, Tuesday’s talks with Jordan’s King Abdullah II will revolve around making a deal — at least in the president’s mind.

Jordan, already home to over 2 million Palestinians, has strongly rejected Trump’s proposal to relocate more refugees from Gaza, with Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi calling the idea “firm and unwavering” in its opposition. Egypt, too, has raised security concerns over the potential influx of refugees.
