According to an Athens-based publication, Georgia football and quarterback Carson Beck going their separate ways may be best for everyone.

Former University of Georgia quarterback Carson Beck surprised many fans on Friday when he confirmed his transfer to the University of Miami instead of going to the NFL Draft.

The Hurricanes aren’t totally sure of that timing. But they are thrilled to have landed Beck, who committed to Miami last week in a massive transfer-portal win for the Hurricanes — who saw another transfer, Cam Ward, have a 2024 season that could make him the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft.

At Miami, he’ll replace Heisman Trophy finalist Cam Ward, who’s projected by USA TODAY Sports as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after throwing for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns and seven interceptions in his first and only season with the Hurricanes.
