Liverpool have reportedly contacted Aurelien Tchouameni's representatives to gauge his interest in joining them from Real Madrid. The Reds tried to sign him before he arrived in the Spanish capital and were linked with a renewed pursuit in the summer.

Tuesday will be remembered mostly as a day of upsets in the UEFA Champions League as Real Madrid and Manchester City — Europe's two most recent title holders — both suffered lopsided defeats.
