Neighbors react to a Muscle Shoals officer involved shooting that left one dead. Muscle Shoals Police say they responded to a call Sunday night which led to the shooting on Tuxedo Avenue. One neighbor says he saw a fire truck between six and seven last night, but assumed it was for a medical emergency.

The Muscle Shoals Police Department (MSPD) says an officer-involved shooting took place in the city Sunday evening.

Colbert County Coroner Justin Gasque confirmed one person died in Sunday night's officer-involved shooting. According to the coroner, the person was taken to Helen Keller Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The body will go to forensics for an autopsy, the coroner says.

According to the department, officers were responding to a call from Tuxedo Avenue, when the shots were fired. They provided no details about what kind of call they were responding to, how many officers were on scene, or whether or not any one was hurt in the shooting.
