Authorities release name of man killed during encounter with Rock Island police
The Rock Island County Coroner's Office has released the identity of a man shot by Rock Island police on Sunday. The man was Jakarta Jackson, 21, Rock Island, Brian Gustafson, the county's coroner, said Monday afternoon. An autopsy was performed Monday in Rockford and the preliminary results indicate Jackson died of multiple gunshot wounds.
