Racist text messages were sent to six students, including students of color, at Stoughton Public Schools as part of a nationwide trend last week.

The text, sent from an unknown number, was sent to several students of color, according to a statement from Stoughton Public Schools.

Many teenagers and college students around the country have reported receiving racist text messages that were sent to phone numbers across the country last week.

After racist texts were sent to dozens of Black Americans, including several LAUSD students, activists are calling for heightened security at LAUSD schools. The district and the FBI are investigating the messages.
