Tottenham booked their place in the FA Cup fourth round but needed extra time to beat National League side Tamworth on Sunday afternoon. Spurs were the overwhelming favourites for this tie, but Andy Peaks' underdogs proved to be mightily stubborn opponents.

Tottenham endured the humiliation of being taken to extra time by Tamworth, an opponent nearly 100 places lower in English soccer’s pyramid, before winning 3-0 and avoiding one of the biggest shocks in FA Cup history on Sunday.

Against Huddersfield, Tom Tonks sparked panic in the defence when the non-league team piled bodies onto visiting goalkeeper Chris Maxwell and he aimed his throw under the crossbar. Tonks’ throw found the back of the net as Maxwell flapped at his punch.
