Blue Origin will have an all-female crew that’s traveling into space from the company’s launch site in West Texas. Katy Perry joins a crew that includes Gayle King, Lauren Sánchez, Amanda Nguyen, Aisha Bowe, and Kerianne Flynn, who are launching into space aboard Blue Origin's New Shephard rocket, NS-31.

They will be aboard the New Shepard, the centerpiece rocket of Blue Origin’s space tourism business, in a launch this spring.

Blue Origin owner Jeff Bezos plans to launch an all-female crew into space that includes Katy Perry, Gayle King and his fiancée, Lauren Sánchez.

On Tuesday, (Feb. 25), Jeff Bezos ’s Blue Origin launched its 10th space tourism mission using its New Shepard rocket, sending six passengers into suborbital space. It was Blue Origin’s fourth crewed flight in the past 12 months and the second New Shepard launch this year following an uncrewed flight three weeks ago.

Now she'll be boarding Blue Origin 's New Shepard rocket, along with a few other celebrity and high-profile crewmates: CBS Mornings' Gayle King and Jeff Bezos' fiancée Lauren Sánchez, who founded Black Ops Aviation, an aerial film and production company.

"Every crew has a special crew name, and this crew has named themselves a Perfect 10. Well, that makes perfect sense to me, considering the fact that this is, in fact, our 10th human flight."

Katy Perry is going to space. The award-winning "E.T." and "Firework" singer will fly on a firework of her own when she joins the first all-female crew to launch on a Blue Origin New Shepard rocket later this year.

"The NS-31 mission is historic as it marks the first crewed space mission composed entirely of women since Valentina Tereshkova's solo flight in 1963."
