Cena cut a well-received promo on Raw's 6 January Netflix debut. At the start of his retirement year in wrestling, Cena ran through his career - from his early spell as OVW's prototype to the present day - then referenced breaking the record he currently shares with Ric Flair (in WWE canon) and winning a 17th World Championship.

John Cena is set to return this weekend at WWE Royal Rumble in hopes of being one step closer to becoming a 17-time World Champion before he officially retires.

After nearly two decades as the face of WWE, Cena will hang it up at the end of 2025. That means he will compete at the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania for the final time. There is a chance that he will also compete at SummerSlam as well in August.
