John Cena, a 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, is set to compete at WWE Royal Rumble 2025. The January 6th episode of RAW, which also marked the Netflix premiere of the show, witnessed John Cena officially kicking off his retirement tour.

Cena cut a well-received promo on Raw's 6 January Netflix debut. At the start of his retirement year in wrestling, Cena ran through his career - from his early spell as OVW's prototype to the present day - then referenced breaking the record he currently shares with Ric Flair (in WWE canon) and winning a 17th World Championship.

After nearly two decades as the face of WWE, Cena will hang it up at the end of 2025. That means he will compete at the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania for the final time. There is a chance that he will also compete at SummerSlam as well in August.
