LSU Gymnastics kicked off its quest to defend its national title on Saturday. The No. 2 Tigers defeated Iowa State at home 197.300-194.100. Olivia Dunne scored above 9.8 in both of her events against the Cyclones.

BATON ROUGE – The No. 2 nationally ranked LSU Gymnastics team opened the 2025 season with a strong 197.300-194.100 win over the Iowa State Cyclones on Friday night inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Olympian Aleah Finnegan won the All-Around title with a score of 39.725, while sensational freshman Kailin Chio secured second place with a total score of 39.575. LSU will next compete on Saturday, January 13th in Oklahoma City. The Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad will also feature Utah, Cal, and the #1 ranked Oklahoma.

Livvy Dunne and the LSU Lady Tigers begin their national title defense on Friday against the Iowa State Cyclones where they’ll unveil their championship banner. Beforehand, Dunne unveiled her stunning leotard look for the meet.
