Early voting starts with polls predicting the tightest of races following rancorous campaign.   13:08 Before the polls opened this morning, about 80 million Americans had already voted and cast early ballots.

In early voting, which ran Oct. 21-Nov. 2, 101,946 people cast ballots. Of those, 60,566 (59.4%) were Republicans, 22,113 (21.7%) were Democrats, 16,678 (16.4%) had no party affiliation and 2,589 (2.5%) had some other party affiliation.
