The New England Patriots signed offensive guard Tyrese Robinson off the Minnesota Vikings practice squad on Tuesday, according to a report from ESPN’s Mike Reiss. Robinson will most likely be working in at the right guard position considering he has played there the last two seasons. He was a Second-Team All-Big 12 guard at Oklahoma in college.

The team is waiving guard Zachary Thomas to make room for new guard Tyrese Robinson. Thomas was claimed off waivers by the Rams at the end of August. He appeared in eight games and played 84 offensive snaps at left guard, left tackle and jumbo tight end and 24 special teams snaps.

After signing guard Tyrese Robinson off the Minnesota Vikings practice squad, the Patriots are subsequently releasing offensive lineman. The Boston Herald was the first to report the news. The Patriots claimed Thomas off waivers at the end of training camp after he was released by the Los Angeles Rams.

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday afternoon, and the New England Patriots have started adding some new talent to their roster. According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, the Patriots are signing guard Tyrese Robinson off of the Minnesota Vikings practice squad.
