Zion Williamson was suspended one game by the Pelicans for arriving late to the team’s flight to Philadelphia, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania . He’ll miss New Orleans’ Friday night game against the 76ers as a result.

CJ McCollum scored 38 points lead a New Orleans Pelicans team playing without the suspended Zion Williamson past the Philadelphia 76ers 123-115.

The Pelicans took an 87-78 lead into the fourth quarter when Alvarado drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer. They stretched the lead to 94-83 on an Alvarado assist to Theis, who finished the play with a slam. Hawkins’ four-point play with 6:49 left boosted the Pelicans' lead to 105-92.

The New Orleans Pelicans head to Wells Fargo Center to face the Philadelphia 76ers in a non-conference matchup. The Pelicans are 7-31, which puts them in last place in the Western Conference. The Sixers are 15-20, which puts them in 11th place in the Eastern Conference.

It's been a hard season for the New Orleans Pelicans and it's about to get harder. Houston had a rough second half of the regular season, but will now be one of the last eight teams standing after ending Jim Harbaugh's first season in Los Angeles.
