Sanders is rated as the No. 18 overall player and the No. 2 quarterback in the 2025 Draft class by Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department. He threw for 4,134 yards with 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions and led the Buffaloes to a 9-4 record and their first Bowl Game since 2020.

Shedeur Sanders opted to skip working out at the 2025 NFL Combine. The expectation was that he would work out at the Big 12's pro day, but the Colorado quarterback again chose not to. Now, he will have just Colorado's specific pro day to work out in front of NFL scouts and coaches.
