After the massive flop that was the Wii U, consumers had every reason to believe the original Switch, released in 2017, would be yet another Nintendo gimmick that would push people to buy a PlayStation or Xbox instead.

The Switch 2 Pro controller is clearly the most refined gamepad Nintendo has ever made. It’s just a shame that it’s so expensive and doesn’t have Hall effect sticks.

More importantly, even for just $14.99 they massively improve the single Joy-Con 2 playing experience. With them in your hands, you now have large, easy-to-press shoulder buttons instead of the awkwardly small SL and SR buttons.
