Fort Worth police are investigating a shooting that injured a man when someone entered his home late Tuesday, Jan. 7, officials said. Officers responded to the 2800 block of Avenue K shortly after 8 p.m. They found a man with a gunshot wound to the torso.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A man was hospitalized Tuesday night after a shooting in Fort Worth, police said. According to the Fort Worth Police Department, the shooting happened before 8 p.m. Tuesday. The male suspect entered the victim's home in the 2800 block of Avenue K, confronted him and shot the victim once in the torso, police said.

FORT WORTH — A shooting in north Fort Worth left one person dead and two others seriously injured, according to Fort Worth police. Officers were called to a home in the 7500 block of Berrenda Drive just before 3 p.m. Tuesday. The home is just northwest of the intersection of I-35W and Basswood Boulevard.

Detectives are investigating the first homicide of the year in Fort Worth. A man was killed and a woman was detained.

A suspected domestic dispute and an apparent car burglary led to Fort Worth's first two homicides of 2025, police said.

Fort Worth police have arrested a suspect accused of shooting a man who confronted him as the suspect burglarized a vehicle on New Year’s Day, officials said Friday. Officials identified the suspect as 33-year-old Kenyan Deon Buchanan, according to a police statement.
