The winter storm blowing across Virginia is causing some delays and cancellations in Hampton Roads. CNU will open at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. City offices, libraries, community centers and courts will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday. City employees with questions should check with their supervisors to determine their schedule expectations for the day.

Many schools in and around Hampton Roads have announced closures or delays for Tuesday, Jan. 7 due to severe weather.

Schools, city services and military bases across the Hampton Roads region will be impacted Tuesday due to expected winter weather overnight.

Another round of winter weather could be on its way to Hampton Roads, according to the National Weather Service in Wakefield. Much of the area received a dusting of snow Sunday night, followed by freezing rain and low temperatures.

It’s been more than 1,000 days since Hampton Roads has seen snow, according to Super Doppler 10 Meteorologist Jeremy Wheeler. Parts of Hampton Roads were covered in a layer of snow following winter weather conditions.
