The strike by Starbucks (NASDAQ:SBUX) baristas that are members of the Workers United union ended on December 24. However, the labor issues for the coffee chain are far from over. The union organized the strike to protest a lack of progress in contract negotiations with Starbucks (SBUX).

The strike by some Starbucks baristas has expanded to more than 300 stores in the U.S., according to the union representing them.

Starbucks' union says workers are walking off the job at some 300 — out of over 10,000 — stores across the U.S. as contract negotiations falter. The company urges it to return to the bargaining table.
