The New York Yankees released two-time MLB batting champion DJ LeMahieu, ending his seven-year tenure with the team, they announced Thursday.

DJ LeMahieu won three Gold Gloves with the Colorado Rockies and another with the New York Yankees. But his range has been diminished by injuries in recent years.

The Yankees moved on from DJ LeMahieu Wednesday when the veteran infielder was designated for assignement with about $22 million left on a six-year contract.
