The NWS Fort Worth TX issued a weather alert at 5:45 a.m. on Friday for strong thunderstorms until 6:30 a.m. The alert is for Collin, Grayson, Fannin, Lamar, Hunt, Delta and Hopkins counties.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for parts of North Texas Wednesday morning. A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Collin, Denton, Grayson and Cooke counties until 7 a.m. Wednesday and a severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Denton County until 5:30 a.m.

We will be watching for another complex to develop late Friday night into Saturday morning in our northwest areas and along the Red River.

The lull in precipitation will allow temperatures to climb well into the 80s Friday afternoon, so it will feel warm outside.

Rain chances in the Dallas-Fort Worth area will continue Friday and Saturday before Sunday brings warm weather and sunshine. Most of the Friday storms will be relegated to areas north and south of Dallas,
