PARIS — Dua Lipa is the new face of Chanel. The “Houdini” singer, who attended the brand’s haute couture show on Tuesday in a floor-sweeping black cape, stars in the new campaign for its 25 handbag, and it promises to be as catchy as one of her earworm tunes.

Dua Lipa is feeling radically optimistic about Chanel’s latest offering. Early this morning, the “Houdini” singer was named the face of the French maison’s newest handbag:

A direct descendant of the revolutionary 2.55 – which, at 70, remains one of the most sought-after handbags in the world – the Chanel 25 mirrors its time. The bag is crafted in supple, lightweight quilted leather, and the medium and large sizes come with a handy clutch that also can be worn solo, depending on the occasion.

Chanel's show was unsurprisingly star-studded, with Dua Lipa, Lily-Rose Depp and Kylie Jenner dressed in signature styles from the fashion house's archives. Blackpink's Jennie Kim was among the other A-list onlookers at the Grand Palais.
