Despite some interaction between the two sides, University of South Carolina head women's basketball coach Dawn Staley is reportedly not in the running to be the next head coach of the New York Knicks.

After the New York Knicks ' coaching search led them to Dawn Staley, the longtime women's coach at South Carolina is not considered a finalist for the vacant position, according to The Athletic. One of the most accomplished players and coaches the women's game has ever seen reportedly "impressed" in conversation with the Knicks.
