Poga bridges to be restored through $10+ million grant
A $10.77 million grant was awarded to Carter County to restore two bridges that cross the Elk River in Elizabethton.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the State of Tennessee have approved $9.77 million to replace the Chestoa Pike bridge, which was destroyed by floodwaters during Hurricane Helene.
