The Texas pass defense has been dominant. The Longhorns lead the country in passing defense (135.3 yards per game allowed). Opponents have an average of just 4.6 yards per attempt and opposing quarterbacks have a passer rating of 89.39, both the lowest marks in the country.

Former Southwest Conference foes Texas and Arkansas have been playing football before the SEC existed. Now, they meet as members of that conference.

However, Arkansas coach Sam Pittman has had to waste precious preparation time this week educating his players on the rivalry and convincing them they should care more than any other random game against a highly ranked SEC team.
