The federal budget bill requires people on Medicaid to get recertified for eligibility twice a year. The expectation is that 350,000 will lose their Medicaid coverage in Florida, according to Jonathan Chapman, president and chief executive officer of the Florida Association of Community Health Centers.

Medicaid helps pay for 41% of births in the U.S., according to Kaiser Family Foundation. In rural communities, it covers nearly half. President Trump's new spending bill cuts Medicaid's federal funding and largely leaves it up to the states to decide if and how to supplement care.
