UPDATE: Cold weather advisory affecting Eastern North Carolina until Thursday morning, says the NWS
On Wednesday at 12:23 a.m. an updated cold weather advisory was issued by the NWS Wilmington NC. The advisory is for Inland Pender, Coastal Pender, Inland New Hanover, Coastal New Hanover, Inland Brunswick and Coastal Brunswick as well as Robeson,
The National Weather Service changed several of its winter weather terms in October 2024. Here is what they new terms mean.
Two towns in Sussex County — Walpack and Sandyston — reported overnight low temperatures of -16 degrees between 7 and 8 a.m.
The Extreme Cold Warning is in effect until noon. Wind chills will remain below zero until Wednesday afternoon.
