People were spotted firing off fireworks at buildings and around people in the Navy Yard neighborhood of Washington, D.C., Friday night, after the Fourth of July fireworks display at the National Mall concluded.

Police said they cracked down on illegal fireworks use in Navy Yard and the U Street Corridor over the holiday weekend, making arrests and seizing pyrotechnic items.
