Snow is no longer falling over most of North Texas after the first winter storm of the season. The National Weather Service dropped a winter storm warning early Friday morning, and let a winter weather advisory expire at 12 p.

Residents can help report snowfall totals by finding a flat area away from trees and buildings, and measuring snow depth to the closest tenth of an inch with a ruler. Then, send in reports to the NWS on social media or email at [email protected].

Parts of North Texas have already seen a significant amount of snow, with more expected in the coming hours. Snow has been falling in Denton and Collin County for a decent amount of the day, while Tarrant County and Dallas County have seen less snow. Areas like Prosper and Bonham saw six inches of snow or more reported by 9 p.m.
