University of South Carolina head football coach Shane Beamer has received a hefty contract extension, according to the university and multiple media reports. WLTX in Columbia is among news outlets reporting that the extension will run through 2030 and make him the highest-paid coach in school history.

Even with the raise, Beamer’s salary is still in the middle of the SEC pack. For reference, his $6.4 million pay in 2024 slotted him 33rd nationally and 14th in the SEC — ahead of only Mississippi State’s Jeff Lebby ($4.25 million) and Vanderbilt’s Clark Lea ($3.19 million).

COLUMBIA — South Carolina's board of trustees approved a new contract for South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer on Friday. Beamer's new contract will began Jan. 1 and runs through Dec. 31, 2030. His salary increased to $8,150,000 with an additional 100,000 on Jan. 1 of every year.

Two years ago, in January of 2023, Beamer inked a new deal that increased his salary from $2.75 million to $6.125 million. That increase made him the highest paid coach in school history. This latest raise catapults him into the top 20 highest paid coaches in college football, based on USA Today Football's 2024 salary database.
