Edgecombe missed the last two games of the Salt Lake City Summer League due to a left thumb contusion. After undergoing an evaluation, Edgecombe was diagnosed with a left thumb sprain and was sidelined on Thursday as they opened the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada.

As Edgecombe moves forward, the Sixers are not going to push him. There's no reason to. It's July. Yes, summer league reps are important for development, but not enough to push him through a thumb sprain at this stage of the game.
