A woman accusing Conor McGregor of sexually assaulting her in a Dublin hotel in 2018 has testified in an Irish court at the start of a civil case seeking financial damages against the mixed martial arts star.

UFC star Conor McGregor was in a Dublin courtroom Tuesday as the civil trial for a 2018 sexual assault allegation got underway.

Conor McGregor was accused of committing a “vicious and violent” sexual assault, as evidence was presented on the opening day of a civil case in Irish High Court.

Nikita Hand is claiming civil damages against McGregor and another man, alleging she was sexually assaulted. Mr McGregor's lawyers told the court Ms Hand, who has no automatic right to anonymity, is attempting extortion.
