The Epic Games Store's latest free mystery game is 2019's Control, available until December 26. The free game lineup this year has included highly-rated games, continuing the store's strong momentum.

Remedy Entertainment and 505 Games have signed an agreement under which they will co-develop and co-publish Control 2 (formerly known as Codename Heron), a sequel to the award-winning game Control.

Once Control, the current free game on the Epic Games Store, has run its course, it will be up to a yet-to-be-revealed mystery game, which will be gratis starting December 26, 2025.
