Dense fog enveloped Delhi with visibility dropping to zero early Wednesday, as the minimum temperature dropped sharply to 7.4 degrees Celsius, the weather office said.

Delhi has been reeling under a severe cold wave following rain a few days ago. Thick fog has caused a disruption in rail and air services in the national capital.

Rain lashed Delhi-NCR throughout Friday with the city recording its highest December rainfall in the last 15 years and the mercury dropping sharply to 14.6 degree celsius, the weather department said.

Delhi experienced a chilly morning with temperatures dropping to single digits and dense fog impacting visibility. Flight schedules were affected. Delhi Airport advised passengers to check flight status before traveling.
