Signs of the First Coast Expressway began popping up in St. Johns County as the next phase of the project takes shape.

Drivers will soon experience relief on a busy stretch of Interstate 4, as a major expansion project wraps up earlier than expected.

The new lanes span seven miles on both sides of I-4 between US-27 in Polk County to east of World Drive in Orange County.
