The Memphis Grizzlies are hiring former Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Ryan Saunders as their lead assistant.

Joan Beringer turned in a tremendous debut with the Timberwolves, and the 17th pick earned praise from coach Chris Finch during the contest.

Cedric Coward, No. 11 overall (first round) Cedric Coward is the prize possession of the draft class for Memphis. The Grizzlies traded up to No. 11 from the 16th pick to acquire the 6-foot-6 forward.

An aggressive move up the draft boards. Memphis hasn’t been afraid to trade up in recent years when it likes a player. At No. 16, the Grizzlies are right outside of the lottery.
