A 12-year-old boy was arrested for stabbing another student with a knife at an elementary school in Stevenson Ranch Friday morning, authorities said. The victim suffered minor injuries.

A 12-year-old boy was in custody Friday after he allegedly stabbed a classmate at a Santa Clarita Valley elementary school, authorities said.

The call about the incident at Pico Canyon Elementary School, located at 25255 Pico Canyon Road, came in shortly after 8 a.m., Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station Lt. Ignacio Somoano told KTLA.

A student allegedly stabbed a fellow classmate in a Stevenson Ranch elementary school classroom, and other students intervened and stopped the attack, a sheriff’s official said.
