Heavy rain and isolated flash flooding are possible this weekend in North Texas. Before storms later in the weekend, conditions will be warm and humid on Friday, July 11, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. Temperatures will be in the low to mid-90s, with heat index values in the triple digits.

In areas that see rainfall and increased cloud cover, temperatures are expected to remain below seasonal averages into next week, providing some relief from the summer heat. However, much of central and southern Texas, areas in the recovery phase from the catastrophic flooding, will face dangerous heat instead of renewed flooding.

Flash floods hit cities and towns south of Boston Thursday as historic rain brought traffic to a crawl and shut down part of I-93.

A "considerable" flash flood warning has been issued in Boston as heavy, life-threatening rain pounds the city and areas to the south. Two to 4 inches of rain has fallen so far. Rainfall rates are reaching up to 2 inches per hour.

The National Weather Service extended the flash flood warning until 11:15 a.m. in Suffolk, Norfolk, and Plymouth counties.
