A newly surfaced video shows Kerr County commissioners and residents in 2021 delaying over $10 million in federal funds —dismissing it as "Biden money"—that could have been used for critical infrastructure upgrades. The decision is now under fire after the destructive July 4 Texas floods exposed weaknesses in the county's emergency systems.

In the last nine years, federal funding for a system has been denied to the county as it contends with a tax base hostile to government overspending.

Over 12,000 volunteers have already assisted in Kerr County, according to the Texas Division of Emergency Management.

The catastrophic flooding in Central Texas has left more than 100 people dead, including Houston-area residents.

As the search and recovery continues in Kerry County, the issue of emergency sirens have become a focus both locally and across teas.

Kerr County relief efforts remain strong on the ground with many folks around town helping where they can. And that includes several restaurants donating proceeds.

Gary and DeeAnn Knetsch were camping directly next to the Guadalupe River with their son, Jake Moeller, his wife, Megan and their five-year-old daughter, Harley. Gary, DeeAnn, Jake and Megan all lost their lives. Harley is still among the missing.
