President-elect Trump is denying a report in The Washington Post that outlines how his top aides are exploring a tariff plan that would only cover critical imports. The Post report cites three sources familiar with the plans saying they would “pare back the most sweeping elements of Trump’s campaign plans” but would still be likely to “upend global trade” if implemented.

"The story in the Washington Post, quoting so-called anonymous sources, which don't exist, incorrectly states that my tariff policy will be pared back. That is wrong. The Washington Post knows it's wrong.
