It has a presentation date of 1872 and there's fairly good information online about the man to whom it was presented, Dr. Edward Livingston Welling. He was a surgeon for the Union Army in the Civil War.

Jun 7, 2019 · I know very little in watch identification but from what can be seen in the photos, it is Tiffany and Co on the dial with Tiffany and Co New York on the movement. The only inscriptions I can see on the movement other than the serial# 111482, the fast and slow markings and the "tiffany" scribe is the word "ADJUSTED".
Looking for information on the maker of my Tiffany pocket watch
Jan 26, 2012 · This tallies with the watch description in Loring's book and would seem to rule out a watch movement made by Tiffany itself in the 1900s. As regards the maker, it may be worth noting that the movement is marked only Tiffany & Co, without either "Geneva" or "New York" as I have seen on other Tiffany & Co pocket watch movements posted online.

Jun 30, 2010 · Friends, I wish to date my grandfather's Tiffany & Co. Hunter Case pocket watch. It was presented to my grandfather in January 1925 by the staff of a hospital in NYC where he was Chief of Staff. The Serial Number of the watch is 8742, and the same number is on the case as well. The watch is signed "Tiffany & Company Geneva" on the movement.

In addition, the balance-cock (Part with the "Fast-Slow" markings on it.) also look to be in the style of Longines. And it is certain that Longines did make many movements for Tiffany.
