TL; DR - Greystar charged me for a full unit carpet replacement after I moved out, violating our lease which states I’m only responsible for damages I cause. I currently reside south of Rochester, NY, the apartment was in Wilmington, NC, and Greystar’s LLC is in Charleston, SC. My biggest concern is avoiding Collections.

Because Greystar is so big and each building operates differently and so many different personalities can be involved, it’s hard to say what your experience will be. If you’re working for a non-owned asset, ownership expectations can also be a factor.

Greystar luckily pulled out of my apartment, but the worst thing about them was how understaffed they kept the leasing office (only 2 people lol) and Fetch. That company has 500+ complaints on BBB. The only reason its made mandatory by Greystar properties is because its owned by a relative of greystar’s CEO or something.

Sep 13, 2023 · Greystar Property Management is unprofessional they are raising the market rate to impossible prices. They treat the tenants like animals with no regard to their needs. The managers are basically slum lords not answering phone calls emails or making themselves available or seen.

Jan 3, 2023 · Greystar is like this throughout the country, just Google their BBB reviews and you’ll see exactly this and worse. If you’re early in your lease and can’t afford the quit clause, if you have one, then bombard the building’s review pages on Google, Yelp, etc. with public reviews.

Apr 24, 2024 · Definitely at least 3x income, no evictions, clean criminal record. That’s the basic Greystar approval requirement. Deposit amt will depend on ownership, any other little requirements will be ownership. It’s not super difficult to get approved.
