Carl Eugene Misak, 88, Caldwell: Oct. 28, 1935 – Oct. 20, 2024. Carl Eugene Misak was born on October 28, 1935, on a farm near Bluff City, KS, to Louie and Agnes Misak. He attended Bluff City schools graduating from high school in 1953. On September 4, 1955, he married Janet Mayo in the Bluff City United Methodist Church.

Branam had a sensational game, getting eight catches for 100 yards, including a big 51-yard first-quarter touchdown in the first quarter to give Wellington a 7-0 lead over in its 20-19 win over Kapaun last Thursday night.

The Crusaders, those from Sumner County, will now be advancing to the Class 4A quarterfinals for the second consecutive year. Andover Central defeated Winfield 35-7.
Conway Springs wins in a muddy, sloggy mess of a playoff game

Last night, the Cardinals won its state second-round playoff game in the rain. In a muddy, sloppy, soggy mess of a night, Conway Springs defeated Marion 21-6. Conway Springs will now host Plainville next Friday.
