Jul 6, 2018 · From Palm Springs, it takes 2ish hours to get to the Imperial Sand Dunes. From Los Angeles, the Imperial Sand Dunes are about 3.h hours away. And only 2.5 hours from San Diego. It’s a good day trip (yanno, if you find shade for the rest of the day). In the summer, temperatures can easily rise above 110 degrees. April…wasn’t much better.
